Climbing at SportscampsSportsCamps are children’s activity camps run by Sportspark at the UEA. Each year hundreds of children sign up to take part in a jam-packed schedule of archery, climbing, swimming, volleyball, dodgeball and athletics to name but a few!

Jenna was down at Sportspark this afternoon with Archant journalists and photographers keen to see how the region’s active kids are putting us all to shame with their boundless enthusiasm and energy levels!

Photo-ID is an exhibition which hopes to answer exactly that!

Ten photographers from across the globe have been commissioned to explore identity and the factors that shape us to make us the person we are today. Some artists hark back to childhood, others explore surroundings, while others investigate the importance of our genetic make-up as the ‘nature vs nurture’ debate rages on.

With the press launch next week we’re excited about this thought-provoking exhibition which frankly holds a mirror up to society.  The exhibition is taking place at The Forum from 1st – 31st August.

Scooping the Gold for 'Outstanding Small Consultancy 2009'July is always a busy month, not least because it’s when we write our entries for the CIPR PRide Awards. Last year we were lucky enough to scoop accolades including Outstanding Small Agency and this year we wanted to highlight our campaign work in the hope that we may add another trophy or two to the cabinet .

The PRide Awards are a celebration of the excellent PR work being carried out across the region. This year’s dinner is on 7th December with a shortlist to be announced in September. Fingers crossed everybody!

Happy Friday!

Work hard, play hard has always been our ethic but after several busy months in the office we thought it was prime time for a night out. With members of sister company Magic Online Solutions we tried out new bar Essence for some eating, drinking and dancing. Good times had by all!

Sorry we couldn’t accommodate more of you but do continue to register your interest for placements in 2010. E-mail rachael@the-wordpr.com with your CV and ‘the word’ on you.
